Meet our Softball Mechanics.
Martin 'Marty' Rubinoff
Martin Rubinoff brings over 40 years of experience in the instruction and evolution of Softball and Baseball from High School through Collegiate to Professional level. Martin's coaching expertise has seen him work with organizations including Cal Poly Pomona D-2 Baseball, Riverside Community College Baseball and Cal State Fullerton D-1 Softball. He also coached and instructed international athletes including the Australian National, Australian Olympic and Japanese Professional Softball Leagues. Martin obtained his Master's Degree in Sport Science from the University of Queensland and has continued his studies in the evolution of softball by studying Technologies Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning and Biomechanics of Hitting and Sensor Technologies at the University of Baylor Bio-Motions Lab. While operating his own instructional facility Martin's Field of Dreams over the last 15 years, he has continued to develop training systems and written manuals for year-to-year development and education for the baseball and softball hitter.
Megan DePew
Megan DePew will be starting her Senior Year at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. She is a Pitcher for the TAMU-CC Islanders Softball team. Although Megan missed her Junior season due to injury, she was a strong competitor in her Freshman and Sophomore year. During the 2022 season, Megan started six times in the circle and made seven appearances as a reliever, throwing two complete games, including one complete game shutout. She finished that season with a 5.49 ERA. Her Freshman year she made 13 appearances in the circle which included four starts. She threw for 22.1 innings that season which included 11 strikeouts. Megan graduated from Holland High School in Holland, TX where she received the Softball Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-District as a sophomore and junior. She also receive the Holland Hornets' Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year, the Bill Hayes Sportsmanship of the Year Award. During her Junior year in high school, Megan pitched 159 innings, with 305 strikeouts and a 1.41 ERA. Her senior year of high school was cut short by COVID. Megan is set to graduate in May 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and will also attain a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management in May 2025.
Eric DePew
Eric DePew was a track athlete at Texas Tech University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Eric has spent most of his career as an executive in the finance and telecommunication industry. He has 15 years of softball experience as a head coach, assistant coach, and instructor for all age ranges. He owns DePew Athletic Complex in Holland, Texas where he provides private lessons and clinics for local athletes. Eric's certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP); First Aid, Health and Safety (NFHS/American Red Cross); National Federation of State High School Coaching Softball; Rapsodo Certified Softball Pitching and Hitting.
